Madam XYZ

Original release date: 1997

In 1995, I was asked by the Japanese publisher, Kodansha, to create a four panel, character oriented strip for the manga book, OPEN. The main character was to be a female magician. Madam XYZ was the result and she began appearing in OPEN during the Spring, 1996. In the fiercely competitive manga market, OPEN ceased publication in 1997.

Madam XYZ afforded me the opportunity to try something different in style and content. Enjoy!
